About Me
I was born and brought up in a small town in Donegal, Ireland. I moved to Britain in 1988 to start my counselling training. Since then I have worked as counsellor and psychotherapist in such varied work settings as University Counselling Centres, Special Care Hospitals and Health Centres. I moved to Edinburgh in 1994 where I set up a private practice and provide, in addition to counselling, counselling supervision to practising counsellors and counselling training on Postgraduate Counselling Diploma Courses, including the University of Edinburgh and University of Strathclyde.
I specialise in working with the effects of trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, using Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am also married with three children aged from 13 years to a lively 2 year old. I pursue a healthy lifestyle and enjoy walking, swimming, meditation, reading, music, cinema, theatre and relaxing with my family and friends.

Qualifications
I have a BA in Social Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP Accredited), and I am an EMDR EUROPE Certificated EMDR Practitioner. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision.
